Disney is always creating new excursions, shows, dining experiences, cruise destinations and rides for their guests. So much is always going on, it’s almost hard to keep up with it all, so here are just some of the most recent highlights:

New Characters

Olaf, the popular character from the hit movie “Frozen,” debuts this spring at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for meet and greets. Also at Hollywood Studios, “For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration” with special appearances by Anna, Elsa and Kristoff. At Magic Kingdom, Anna and Elsa can be seen in the Festival of Fantasy parade and Epcot hosts a Frozen Ever After attraction in Norway where Princess Anna and Queen Elsa greet guests at the Royal Sommerhus.

Kids can also meet Joy and Sadness from “Inside Out” at Epcot and journey through Riley’s long-term memory, catching a glimpse of her Islands of Personality before joining Joy and Sadness at the console.

Disney Cruise Lines

In early 2017, Disney Cruise Line guests celebrate Star Wars Day at Sea, which includes appearances of Star Wars characters, fireworks, Star Wars-themed family and youth activities and screenings and more.

Also next year, Disney Cruise Line will sail on new itineraries and to new ports, including to Alaska and Europe, Norway, the British Isles, the Mediterranean, the Caribbean and the Bahamas. For the first time, Disney Cruise Line will also visit Amsterdam, Netherlands in 2017. This itinerary also includes a call on Portland, England – another first-time port for Disney Cruise Line.

The Walt Disney Company announced plans to build two additional cruise ships to be completed in 2021 and 2023. Each new ship will be slightly larger than the newest Disney Cruise Line ships, the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy – and each is currently planned to include about 1,250 guest staterooms.

New Entertainment

New Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire stage show comes to Magic Kingdom Park this summer and brings Tiana of “Princess and the Frog,” and Rapunzel of “Tangled,” co-star with Anna and Elsa of “Frozen,” and a host of classic characters in the new Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire. Guests will also find “Turtle Talk with Crush” with characters from Disney Pixar’s “Finding Dory.”

New Experiences

Kilimanjaro Safaris attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park will be extended for a new nighttime adventure where guests will travel through the African savanna amid the magically extended orange glow of the setting sun and discover two species new to the attraction: African wild dogs and hyenas. “Rivers of Light” combines live performances, floating lanterns, water screens and swirling animal imagery at “Discovery River.” Pandora — The World of AVATAR comes to Disney in 2017, bringing the mythical world of Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park. AVATAR Flight of Passage will allow guests to soar on a Banshee over a vast alien world.

For guests who can’t get enough of Buzz and Woody, Toy Story Land, an 11-acre land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, will transport guests into the adventurous outdoors of Andy’s backyard. Guests can enjoy a family-friendly roller coaster on the back of Slinky Dog and an aliens saucer attraction.

New Shopping

New retail shops coming to Disney Springs include Edward Beiner, Lilly Pulitzer, L’Occitane en Provence, PANDORA, Tommy Bahama, UGG, UNIQLO and Zara. New restaurants include STK, a modern steakhouse that offers fine dining, signature cocktails, and a DJ playing eclectic music nightly; The Edison, an “Industrial Gothic”-style restaurant, bar and nighttime destination that will feature exceptional classic American food, artisanal craft cocktails and unparalleled live entertainment; Sprinkles – the world’s first cupcake bakery; and more.
