Some hotels welcome pets in their rooms, while most do not. So, how do you go about locating the ones that accommodate pets? There’s only one way to go about it – research.

Some of the questions you’ll have to ask include things like:

– Does this place allow pets? If so, move on to the next questions…Otherwise it’s time to change hotels.

– Are there breed limitations?

– Are there size limitations?

– Can I leave him/her in my room or must I be present with my pet at all times?

– Do you offer pillows, bowls, treats, sitting, dog walking, kenneling etc…

– Are there places to walk my pet?

The number one reason most hotels don’t accept pets because they require a lot of extra cleaning. Those that do allow pets will often charge $25 per night or more in addition to your room rate just to cover the extra cleaning. Add to this a refundable deposit of $100 and fees for any damage your pet could cause and you’re looking at even more money to pay just to have your furry friend join you.

It’s a tough pill to swallow, but the sad truth is you’re more likely to not be able to bring your animals with you to most destinations. Although you may love your furry friends, you have to ask yourself if the costs and limitations on destinations is really worth it to you!
